Asia Trail II Elephant Facility for the National Zoo

Smithsonian Institute Client: William V. Walsh Construction WAI is currently providing mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection design services for a design build of the Asia Trail II Elephant Facility. This project was won via a preliminary design award competition and anticipates a LEED Gold accreditation. Key aspects of this project include a geothermal based HVAC system and a photo voltaic array that provides 10% of its energy needs. This project is currently under construction and is estimated to be completed in 2011.
