WAI provided mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection design services, and MEP commissioning for a design build of the Asia Trail II Elephant Facility Renovation and Expansion. This project was won via a preliminary design award competition and anticipates a LEED Gold accreditation. Key aspects of this project include a geothermal based HVAC system, radiant heating, a dedicated outside air ventilation system, a 105,000 CFM animal area ventilation system with 70% effective heat recovery light harvesting controls, and a photovoltaic array that can provide 10% of its energy needs. Phase I of this project (described above) was completed in 2009 and Phase II is estimated to be complete in 2011. |
